Bloomberg’s 2026 Asia Rich List Highlights AI Infrastructure and HBM Chips as Key Wealth Drivers

2 reports · First detected 2026-04-14 · Last active 2026-04-29

Bloomberg’s 2026 ranking of Asia’s 20 richest families showed their combined wealth at a record high, driven largely by generative AI demand for data centers, servers and advanced memory. High-bandwidth memory, or HBM, has become a critical component in AI chips, putting the semiconductor supply chain at the center of a revaluation of Asia’s biggest fortunes.

The latest ranking showed that Samsung’s Lee family benefited from its HBM exposure, with its wealth surging from about $20 billion to $45.5 billion in one year and its position jumping to third. India’s Ambani family retained the top spot, while Taiwan’s Tsai family placed sixth. The 2026 list shows that the AI infrastructure boom has directly reshaped the wealth landscape among Asia’s leading families.
