Anthropic Lets Users Teach Claude Skills by Recording Tasks
Anthropic introduced Claude Cowork in January 2026 as a desktop workspace that brings Claude Code-style agent capabilities to non-technical users. Its Skills system packages instructions, scripts and reference materials into repeatable workflows, allowing Claude to perform specialized tasks more consistently. Creating those modules, however, has typically required users to document procedures and assemble configuration files manually, limiting adoption among people without technical experience.
Anthropic announced Record a skill on July 22, 2026, adding a demonstration-based setup flow to the Claude desktop app. Users can select the feature from the “+” menu, record their screen while completing a task and narrate the process. Claude then converts the demonstration into a reusable Skill that can run the workflow again. The feature is available to Pro, Max and Team subscribers, with no separate add-on price disclosed.
