UBS Analysts Say Anthropic and OpenAI Models May Replace Some Software Incumbents

1 reports · First detected 2026-04-15 · Last active 2026-04-15

Generative AI companies are moving beyond foundation models and into the enterprise application software market. UBS analysts said Anthropic and OpenAI's continued investment in AI models and AI agents could displace some incumbent software vendors. Companies' ability to properly integrate, govern and use internal data will be a key competitive factor.

UBS said in its latest research report that Anthropic and OpenAI are gradually becoming leading application software providers, putting direct pressure on traditional enterprise software companies. However, reports did not disclose the report's publication date, the amount invested by either company or their growth rates. What can be confirmed is that investment in AI agents has increased significantly.
