Suno Adds MIDI Support in Studio 2.0 Push Toward Pro Production

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-14 · Last active 2026-08-14

Suno built its audience by turning text prompts into complete songs, but it has increasingly sought a place in conventional music-production workflows. The company launched Suno Studio on Sept. 25, 2025, combining generative tools with a multitrack timeline and audio editing in a browser. Studio 2.0 advances that strategy by giving musicians more direct control over arrangements and sound, moving the platform closer to a digital audio workstation, or DAW.

Suno released Studio 2.0 on Aug. 13, 2026, for Premier subscribers, without announcing separate pricing. The update adds MIDI tracks — the platform’s most-requested feature — alongside support for external MIDI controllers, transport control and MIDI learn. It also introduces a built-in wavetable synthesizer, audio effects including sidechain compression and convolution reverb, parameter automation, a chat bar and updated stem separation. Third-party plugins remain unsupported, leaving the product short of a fully extensible professional DAW.
