Nvidia Wins U.S. Approval to Resume H200 Sales to China, Reportedly Readies Groq Inference Chip

The United States has tightened restrictions on exports of advanced computing chips to China in recent years, limiting Nvidia’s product availability and competitiveness in the Chinese market. The H200 is a high-end GPU used to train and run inference for large AI models. A resumption of exports would affect not only Nvidia’s revenue but also China’s AI computing supply and order momentum across Taiwan’s semiconductor manufacturing chain.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently confirmed that the U.S. government had issued licenses for H200 exports to China, allowing the company to restart related production and accept orders from Chinese customers. Nvidia is also reportedly preparing a Groq AI chip designed for inference that can be sold in China as it navigates export controls. As of July 20, 2026, reports had not disclosed a launch date, price or order value.
