Samson Mow Proposes $1.5 Billion Bitcoin OTC Deal Between Strategy and BSTR
Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, is the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder. It recently used cash reserves to repay debt and is seeking to replenish its US dollar liquidity. Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company, or BSTR, has built a treasury of 30,021 BTC and plans to expand its holdings. Strategy’s need for cash and BSTR’s demand for Bitcoin underpin the proposed mutually beneficial OTC transaction.
On June 26, 2026, JAN3 CEO Samson Mow proposed on X that Strategy sell 25,000 BTC to BSTR over the counter for $1.5 billion, or about $60,000 per coin. If completed, the deal would increase Strategy’s US dollar reserves from $1.4 billion to $2.9 billion. BSTR’s holdings would rise to 55,021 BTC, making it the second-largest corporate Bitcoin holder, but neither company has announced talks.
