Umbra Taps Onramper for Private Fiat Ramps and Crypto Payroll
Umbra is a privacy-focused payments protocol designed to weaken the links between wallet identities and fund movements visible on public blockchains. Fiat onramps can create another traceable connection among a customer’s identity, bank payment and onchain address. Integrating Onramper, a fiat-to-crypto gateway aggregator, is therefore aimed at giving privacy-conscious individuals and businesses a less exposed route into digital assets.
Umbra recently announced the Onramper integration for private fiat purchases and isolated cryptocurrency payroll payments. The payroll feature is intended to separate payment activity and reduce the ability of outside observers to connect employers, recipients and transaction histories. As of Aug. 6, 2026, the information provided did not specify a launch date, supported currencies, fees, transaction limits or the financial terms of the partnership.
