SentinelOne Cuts 8% of Workforce as AI Transformation Reshapes Operations
US cybersecurity company SentinelOne’s core business centers on an AI-powered platform for endpoint and cloud protection. As generative AI drives up research, development and infrastructure spending, technology companies are reallocating their workforces. The move shows that even as cybersecurity demand continues to grow, providers must balance operational efficiency with increased investment in AI and data analytics.
SentinelOne CEO Tomer Weingarten announced on May 28, 2026, that the company would cut 8% of its full-time workforce. Based on its headcount of more than 3,000 at the end of April, the layoffs are estimated to affect about 240 employees and result in a one-time charge of $25 million. The company forecast quarterly revenue of $289 million to $291 million, below market expectations of $292 million. Its shares fell 8.16% to $16.55 on May 29.
