Anthropic Launches Its First Official Technical Credential, Claude Certified Architect – Foundations

Anthropic launched its first official technical credential, Claude Certified Architect – Foundations (CCA-F), on March 12, 2026, targeting architects with hands-on experience implementing Claude in enterprise environments. Rather than testing rote knowledge of product features, the certification assesses candidates’ ability to design, integrate and reliably deploy AI applications, reflecting a broader shift in generative AI talent assessment toward systems architecture and practical decision-making.

The newly announced CCA-F exam consists of 60 scenario-based multiple-choice questions, lasts 120 minutes and costs $99 per attempt. It is scored out of 1,000, with 720 required to pass. The exam covers five domains: agentic architecture and orchestration, 27%; Claude Code, 20%; prompt engineering, 20%; tool design and MCP integration, 18%; and context management and reliability, 15%. Topics include the Claude API, Agent SDK and enterprise workflows.
