Tokio Marine Newa and Taiwan’s Criminal Investigation Bureau Sign Anti-Fraud Pact

Financial fraud methods continue to evolve, exposing insurers to risks including suspicious transactions and identity theft. Tokio Marine Newa Insurance is working with the Criminal Investigation Bureau under Taiwan’s National Police Agency to combine intelligence from private-sector financial channels with police information. The partnership aims to strengthen fraud detection, reporting and public education, reducing the likelihood that policyholders and the wider public will become victims.

Tokio Marine Newa recently formally signed a letter of intent on anti-fraud cooperation with the bureau. The two sides will establish intelligence-sharing and reporting mechanisms covering financial fraud and suspicious transactions. The company has promoted digitally enabled anti-fraud education since 2023 through a dedicated section of its website and video content, reaching a cumulative audience of more than 2 million.
