Temenos Expands AWS Cloud Banking Services as FAB Launches Saudi Arabia Project
Swiss banking software provider Temenos has worked with Amazon Web Services (AWS) since 2019, initially focusing its services on core banking systems. Moving critical banking systems to the cloud involves data residency, regulatory compliance and operational resilience. First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), meanwhile, has used Temenos in 12 countries during a partnership spanning more than 10 years.
On May 5, 2026, Temenos announced that it was expanding its SaaS offering on AWS beyond core banking to include digital banking and payments. The same day, FAB launched a Saudi Arabia project that will deploy Core Banking, Payments Hub and Data Hub on a local cloud to support Islamic banking services for retail, small and medium-sized enterprise, and corporate customers. The companies did not disclose the contract value or implementation timeline.
