Nvidia to Launch N1X Laptop Processor With Integrated AI Acceleration
Nvidia has long dominated data-center AI computing through its GPUs and CUDA ecosystem. It now plans to enter the laptop market with the Arm-based N1X, extending its cloud-computing strengths to on-device AI. The move will challenge Apple’s M-series chips and Intel processors while intensifying competition in the AI PC market among companies including MediaTek and Qualcomm.
The N1X was expected to debut in the first quarter of 2026 and was reported to combine a 20-core CPU, an RTX 5070-class GPU and AI acceleration, targeting users with heavy on-device computing needs. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimated that shipments of related devices could reach 10 million units within two years of launch. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also said the N1X family continued to expand and that planning for the N3X was already underway.

Nvidia has long dominated the discrete GPU market but has not directly controlled the CPU in Windows laptops. As Apple Silicon and Qualcomm raise the profile of Arm-based PCs, Nvidia has partnered with MediaTek to develop the N1X, integrating a CPU, RTX graphics and on-device AI into a single system-on-chip. The move is aimed at entering an AI PC market dominated by Intel and AMD.
On June 1, 2026, CEO Jensen Huang formally unveiled the N1X-based RTX Spark product at GTC Taipei at the Taipei Music Center. It features a 20-core Grace CPU, a Blackwell GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores, up to 1 petaflop of AI performance and 128GB of unified memory. Models from Asus, Dell and other manufacturers are scheduled to launch in the fall, with pricing yet to be announced.
