AIR Raises $50 Million to Secure Enterprise AI Agents
As companies give AI agents broader access to databases, internal systems and the internet, the skills, plug-ins and MCP servers used by those agents are creating a new software supply chain — and another route for malicious code or poisoned content. AIR, founded by former Israeli Unit 8200 members Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman, is building an independent security layer that discovers agents across corporate environments, continuously checks their components and blocks interactions that fail company policies.
AIR emerged from stealth on Sept. 1, 2026, after raising $50 million across two seed rounds that closed within weeks of each other. Sequoia led the first, a $10 million financing, while Greenoaks led the second, worth $40 million. AIR says it has more than 20 customers, about a quarter of them large enterprises, and currently rejects roughly 27% of the skills and add-ons it finds online. The company plans to use the capital to hire researchers and expand sales in the United States and Europe.
