Crypto Projects Pivot to AI After Setbacks, Seeking a Fresh Start
Humanity Protocol originally used proof of personhood to build decentralized identity and onchain credentials, while Saga provided infrastructure for gaming and application chains. Both are now de-emphasizing their crypto businesses and pivoting toward enterprise AI and AI agents, reflecting efforts to rebuild growth momentum through the AI boom after their token narratives faltered.
In June 2026, about $36 million was stolen from Humanity Protocol’s treasury, related wallets lost more than $32 million and the H token plunged as much as 89%. The team subsequently began an enterprise AI transition lasting about a month. Saga, meanwhile, transferred control of its blockchain operations to Alapin Holdings on June 1 and established Saga AI Labs.
