Coinbase, Cardless Launch USDC-Secured Credit Card
Coinbase and credit card technology company Cardless are partnering to use USDC as collateral for a credit card, offering an alternative for people with limited credit histories who cannot obtain traditional unsecured cards. The model allows holders to access spending credit without selling their stablecoins, underscoring crypto assets' growing integration with mainstream lending services.
Coinbase and Cardless announced a USDC-secured option for the Coinbase One Card on June 9, 2026. Applicants can pledge part of the USDC in their Coinbase accounts as collateral and continue earning yield while the funds are segregated. The card carries no separate annual fee, but users must subscribe to Coinbase One, whose basic plan costs $49.99 a year.
