OKX Partners with BitGo on Off-Exchange Settlement for U.S. Institutions
Institutional investors seeking access to crypto exchange liquidity have typically had to transfer assets onto trading platforms in advance, exposing themselves to exchange counterparty risk and tying up capital. OKX returned to the United States in April 2025. ICE was then reported to have invested $200 million on March 5, 2026, valuing OKX at $25 billion and underscoring its ambitions in the U.S. institutional market.
OKX announced on April 23, 2026, that it had integrated BitGo's Go Network off-exchange settlement service. U.S. institutional clients can place orders on OKX while keeping their assets segregated in BitGo's regulated cold wallets. The new structure can reduce or eliminate the need to pre-fund assets across platforms and combines custody, trading and settlement to improve capital efficiency and reduce counterparty exposure.
