New Power Party CRM Breach Exposes 33,000 Personal Records, Triggers Cyber Response

Hackers breached the New Power Party’s CRM system, which manages supporter information and contact records, exposing about 33,000 personal records including names, phone numbers and addresses. Political parties’ supporter lists contain information about political leanings and personal identities. If misused, the data could enable targeted fraud, impersonation and threats to personal safety.

The New Power Party issued a statement on the evening the incident came to light, confirming that an external party had breached its CRM system and affected about 33,000 records. No financial losses were involved. The party urgently isolated the affected system, activated its cybersecurity response and reported the incident to police. It also notified affected supporters to remain alert to calls, text messages and other fraudulent approaches from people impersonating party personnel.
