LG Establishes Robotics Business Center to Accelerate Physical AI Push
Physical AI enables robots to perceive their surroundings, understand instructions and act autonomously in real-world environments. It is also central to LG Electronics’ expansion from home-appliance manufacturing into smart solutions. A dedicated unit can consolidate research and development, data and product resources, shorten the path from model training to commercialization, and strengthen the company’s competitiveness in the global robotics market.
LG Electronics recently announced that it has moved ahead with the establishment of a Robotics Business Center reporting directly to the CEO. The center will oversee the group’s robotics operations and commercialization efforts. It will build a large-scale data factory to continuously collect data and train LG’s robotics foundation model, with the goal of becoming a leading global provider of physical AI solutions in 2026. The company has not disclosed the investment amount or the center’s exact establishment date.
