Trump Family Boosts Stakes in Coinbase, MARA and Strategy in First Quarter

1 reports · First detected 2026-05-15 · Last active 2026-05-15

The U.S. Office of Government Ethics’ Form 278-T is used to disclose securities transactions by government officials. Coinbase is a cryptocurrency exchange, MARA Holdings is a Bitcoin miner, and Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, holds a large amount of Bitcoin. Because all three stocks are closely tied to the crypto market, changes in the Trump family’s holdings have drawn close attention.

First-quarter 2026 filings released on May 14 showed that the Trump family bought shares in all three companies in multiple transactions. The filings listed nine Coinbase purchases, the largest of which, on February 10, was valued at between $100,000 and $250,000. The family also traded Nvidia, Microsoft, Oracle and Boeing during the period, with some individual transactions ranging from $1 million to $5 million. Total reported transactions for the quarter were valued at about $220 million to $750 million.

Trump Disclosure Shows Crypto Profits Shifted Into Traditional Stocks and Bonds2026-07-14 · 1 reports · similarity 0.81

Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s stance on digital assets has long drawn scrutiny because of his prominence in politics and finance. Since 2024, he has actively promoted his family’s cryptocurrency ventures, tying his personal wealth more closely to emerging technology. The push has not only changed the Republican Party’s policy stance on cryptocurrencies but also intensified global investor interest in the movement of his vast holdings, making them an important gauge of the ties between the crypto market and political and business interests.

According to financial disclosure documents newly released in 2026 by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, Trump earned more than $1.4 billion, or about NT$45 billion, from his family’s cryptocurrency ventures in 2025. Although he still holds substantial amounts of Bitcoin and Ether, his asset managers have moved most of the crypto proceeds into the safer traditional stock and bond markets.
