Top Fintech Employers Use Remote Work and Autonomy to Attract Talent
American Banker and Arizent launched Best Places to Work in Fintech in 2017, selecting U.S. fintech employers through assessments of company policies and employee surveys. As major banks tighten return-to-office requirements, remote-work flexibility, a sense of purpose and autonomy have become crucial tools for attracting talent across geographic boundaries.
A May 18, 2026, report said 33 companies made this year's list. Atlanta-based credit card services provider CorServ ranked No. 7 and has operated remotely since its founding in 2009, while Hometap ranked No. 15 and remains 100% remote. Recruiters estimated that mandatory commuting or relocation would eliminate 60% to 80% of potential candidates.
