El Salvador Launches Bitcoin Diploma 2.0, Deploys Grok AI Tutors

1 reports · First detected 2026-02-25 · Last active 2026-02-25

El Salvador is extending its national policy of using Bitcoin to challenge the traditional fiat currency system by formally making Bitcoin and financial literacy part of the mandatory national curriculum. The initiative focuses on digital assets, risk management and monetary sovereignty. It also shows the government continuing to advance its Bitcoin strategy despite pressure from the International Monetary Fund, or IMF.

The new “Bitcoin Diploma 2.0” program calls for three hours of mandatory classes each week starting in elementary school and the deployment of xAI’s Grok AI tutors at 5,000 schools nationwide to help students learn about finance and Bitcoin. Reports did not specify an official launch date, the program’s total budget or the amount allocated to each school. The government has yet to publish results from its implementation.
