Global Humanoid Robot Shipments Nearly Quadruple in First Half of 2026
Humanoid robots are moving beyond research demonstrations and entertainment into smart manufacturing and commercial services, emerging as a key platform for embodied artificial intelligence. Faster integration of world models with vision-language-action, or VLA, architectures is improving machines’ ability to interpret their surroundings, plan tasks and perform complex movements. That shift is also expanding opportunities across robot hardware, components and software ecosystems.
Global shipments of complete humanoid robots exceeded 22,000 units in the first half of 2026, up nearly 300% from a year earlier, according to Counterpoint Research. Leading vendors including AgiBot and Unitree Robotics dominated the market as commercial deployment accelerated. Counterpoint expects full-year 2026 shipments to surpass 50,000 units, pointing to faster adoption of embodied AI and a broader transition toward factory and service-sector applications.

Global humanoid robot shipments reached 19,100 units from January through June 2026, with Chinese manufacturers accounting for more than 97% of the total, according to Smart Analytics Global. AgiBot and Unitree Robotics were among the strongest performers. The expansion continued despite US measures targeting security risks tied to relevant AI infrastructure, as Chinese companies accelerated their shift from showcase projects and development programs toward commercial and industrial deployments.
