Samsung Launches AI Health Assistant in Beta
Samsung Electronics is expanding Samsung Health beyond activity tracking as technology companies compete to turn data from smartphones and wearables into personalized wellness services. Its new Health Assistant is designed to connect information that is often viewed separately — including sleep, physical activity, nutrition and vital signs — and translate those signals into practical guidance for users.
Samsung has introduced the AI-powered Health Assistant as a beta feature working with the Samsung Health app. The service uses artificial intelligence to combine multiple categories of health data, generate personalized analysis and recommend specific actions. Samsung has not disclosed a date for a full commercial release, the markets or devices that will support the feature, or whether access will eventually require payment.

Between July 10 and 13, 2026, several users found that rejecting the terms triggered a warning that their cloud health data would stop syncing and be deleted in full, sparking a major backlash. Samsung Electronics issued an urgent clarification on July 14, saying ambiguous wording in the app notification had caused a misunderstanding. The company said AI authorization was a separate option and that declining it would delete only data designated for AI training, without affecting routine health records or cloud synchronization.
