Micron Opens New India Plant as UBS Sees Memory Supply Constraints Lasting Through 2028
Micron has opened a semiconductor assembly and testing facility in India, diversifying its manufacturing footprint and reducing exposure to geopolitical and supply-chain disruption risks. AI servers are driving demand for high-bandwidth memory and crowding out conventional DRAM capacity, putting memory supply, demand and pricing in the industry spotlight.
Micron announced the formal opening of its new India facility in July 2026. UBS cited strong pricing momentum in DRAM and NAND, forecasting that the broader memory shortage will persist through 2026 and that DRAM supply constraints could last through 2028. The bank raised its Micron price target to $535 per share from $475.
