JKO Pay Tops 7.3 Million Users After Three Profitable Months
JKO Pay, one of Taiwan’s major electronic-payment providers, has expanded to more than 7.3 million users as the domestic mobile-payments market matures. The company is seeking to strengthen revenue from both consumer transactions and merchant acquiring, with Taiwan’s interoperable TWQR payment standard forming a key part of its strategy to broaden acceptance at physical retailers.
The company said first-half operating performance exceeded expectations and that it posted profits in each month from June through August, its first three-month profitable streak since launch. JKO Pay did not disclose monthly revenue or profit amounts. It plans to accelerate TWQR merchant acquisition and expand overseas in-store and e-commerce payment coverage, targeting full-year break-even and sustained profitability thereafter.
