Jensen Huang Says OpenClaw Adoption Is Outpacing Linux, Igniting Agentic AI Compute Demand

OpenClaw is open-source agentic AI software that can autonomously break down tasks, invoke tools and continuously execute workflows. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang described it as a “modern computer,” arguing that companies will shift from using software to providing agent services. He expects this transition to make AaaS a new business model and drive demand for data-center computing power.

Speaking at GTC on March 16, 2026, Huang said OpenClaw had achieved in just three weeks a scale of adoption comparable to what Linux accumulated over roughly 30 years, making it one of the most important software releases in history. He expects AI agents to cause token consumption to soar. NVIDIA’s next-generation Vera Rubin architecture will also be optimized for inference efficiency and large-scale agent workloads.
