Texas Instruments Targets AI Server Hardware as It Helps Data Centers Optimize Power
Generative AI is driving higher GPU computing density while increasing pressure on data-center power supplies, cooling systems and energy efficiency. Texas Instruments (TI) is using microcontrollers (MCUs), digital signal processors (DSPs) and power-management components to improve power-conversion efficiency in AI servers and reduce the energy consumption and operating costs of high-performance computing infrastructure.
As of July 20, 2026, TI was deepening its cooperation with Taiwan’s supply chain. In addition to helping data centers optimize power delivery, the company is developing hardware and software technologies for optical communications modules to support high-speed data transmission between servers. Existing reports have not identified partner companies or disclosed investment amounts, mass-production schedules or efficiency gains. The next focus will be product adoption and progress in customer validation.
