White House Launches Gold Eagle AI Cybersecurity Hub

Gold Eagle stems from Executive Order 14409, signed by President Donald Trump on June 2, 2026. The voluntary cybersecurity clearinghouse links federal agencies, AI developers, open-source software groups and critical-infrastructure operators. Its significance lies in the speed and scale at which frontier AI can uncover software flaws, raising the risk that fragmented disclosure and patching systems will leave essential services exposed. The initiative aims to reduce duplicate scanning and convert AI-generated findings into verified, actionable remediation.

The Treasury Department, Department of Homeland Security — including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency — and Department of Defense officially launched Gold Eagle on July 2 in consultation with the White House, which announced it publicly on July 14. The hub has begun ingesting and validating vulnerabilities, coordinating scans, prioritizing fixes and developing secure distribution channels. Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute helped build its intake platform. The administration disclosed no new funding amount for the initiative.
