Slice Raises $100 Million at $450 Million Valuation

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-05 · Last active 2026-09-07

Slice began as a credit-card-focused fintech before acquiring North East Small Finance Bank in 2023 and merging with the lender to form Slice Small Finance Bank. The transition gave Slice a banking licence and broadened its business into deposits, UPI credit cards, digital lending, merchant finance and payments. The latest transaction is its first major institutional funding round since becoming a bank, making it an important test of how investors value the company under banking metrics rather than high-growth fintech multiples.

Slice raised $100 million at a valuation of about $450 million, Moneycontrol reported on Sept. 3, 2026, citing people familiar with the transaction. The valuation represents a roughly 68% decline from its previous $1.4 billion level. Indian wealth-management platform Neo Wealth led the round, contributing about $20 million to $25 million, while Japan-based Kado Global and U.S.-headquartered Moore Strategic Ventures also invested. The $100 million total includes a secondary share sale by existing investors, though the split between new capital and secondary transactions was not disclosed.

The history behind this event
Lumin Digital Raises $70 Million From Banking Clientsfirst seen 2026-07-17 · 2 reports · similarity 0.69 · same topic: Digital-Only Banking

Lumin Digital provides digital banking technology to banks and credit unions, helping financial institutions operate mobile and online services. The client-backed financing underscores a broader shift in financial technology: lenders are increasingly looking to established software providers to deploy artificial intelligence and modernize customer services, while taking a direct financial stake in platforms central to their digital strategies.

Lumin Digital said in July 2026 that it secured $70 million in new investment from bank and credit union clients using its services, valuing the company at $1.6 billion. The digital banking provider said the capital would support its digital development goals. It did not disclose the participating institutions, their individual commitments or additional transaction terms in the event information.
