Lightspark Unveils Grid Global Accounts With Bitcoin, Fiat and AI-Powered Payments

Lightspark CEO David Marcus unveiled Grid Global Accounts, which uses the Bitcoin network as the foundation for cross-border payments and combines bitcoin, stablecoins and traditional fiat currencies in a single account. The service aims to simplify international money transfers and foreign-exchange transactions while connecting to everyday spending through Visa's payment network.

Grid Global Accounts can handle the fiat currencies of 65 countries, while users can also hold and transfer bitcoin and stablecoins and make payments with Visa. A new delegated-authorization feature allows AI agents to execute cross-border transfers and purchases automatically within budgets and permissions set by users. Lightspark has not announced an official launch date, pricing or a market-by-market rollout schedule.
