Polygon Launches ZK Privacy Payments for Anonymous USDC and USDT Transfers
Public-blockchain transfers expose the payer, recipient and transaction amount, potentially revealing companies’ supplier payments, payroll and treasury movements to competitors. The market capitalization of stablecoins on Polygon reached a record $3.6 billion on April 10, 2026, making institutional-grade privacy a critical missing piece in the expansion of onchain payments.
Polygon Labs said on May 4, 2026, that it had partnered with privacy protocol Hinkal to launch “Privately Send” in Polygon Wallet, supporting USDC and USDT. Transactions use a shielded pool, zero-knowledge proofs and know-your-transaction screening to conceal both parties and the amount. Funds move directly from the wallet throughout the process and are never held in custody by Polygon or Hinkal.
