Blockchain.com Secures Cayman Crypto Custody License
Blockchain.com, a platform offering cryptocurrency trading, wallet and custody services, is expanding its regulated footprint as jurisdictions tighten oversight of digital assets. The Cayman Islands is a major international financial center, with virtual asset service providers supervised by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, or CIMA. A custody license gives the company a regulated base for serving crypto clients in the jurisdiction.
CIMA has granted Blockchain.com a virtual asset service provider custody license, allowing the company to offer compliant crypto custody and trading services in the Cayman Islands. The approval follows Blockchain.com’s MiCA authorization in Europe and registration with the UK Financial Conduct Authority. The latest license strengthens the company’s global compliance network across three key regulatory markets as crypto platforms seek clearer legal footing for cross-border operations.
