Blacksmith Raises $45 Million at $550 Million Valuation
Founded in 2024, Blacksmith operates a continuous integration and delivery platform that helps software teams build, test and validate code changes. The surge in output from AI coding agents has shifted a key development bottleneck from writing code to checking and deploying it, increasing demand for faster testing infrastructure and automated verification tools.
Blacksmith completed a $45 million Series B round led by Peak XV Partners on May 20, 2026, valuing the startup at $550 million. That compares with a roughly $63 million valuation when it announced a $10 million Series A on Sept. 17, 2025, marking an almost ninefold increase in eight months. Blacksmith now serves more than 1,000 customers and has introduced Codesmith, an AI agent designed to identify and automatically fix software problems.
