Mercury Launches Corporate Cards for AI Agents

Mercury is expanding beyond its core financial technology services with Mercury Spend, a platform designed to centralize corporate expense management. The product addresses a new governance challenge as companies deploy AI agents to purchase software and conduct routine transactions: giving automated systems access to payment tools while maintaining clear authorization, oversight and accountability.

As of Aug. 13, 2026, Mercury Spend allows businesses to issue corporate cards to employees and AI agents from a single dashboard. Companies can impose transaction permissions and spending limits on each agent, while monitoring expenses in real time to prevent unauthorized or excessive purchases. The platform also combines invoice tracking with natural-language AI tools to automate bookkeeping. Mercury has not disclosed pricing or transaction-volume figures.
