CryptoQuant CEO Says Bitcoin Bear Market Is Over
Bitcoin’s weakened price and on-chain momentum in 2026 has fueled debate over whether the cryptocurrency has reached a durable bottom. CryptoQuant Chief Executive Ki Young Ju is pointing to the analytics firm’s bull-bear cycle indicator, a gauge that previously signaled Bitcoin’s shift from a prolonged downturn into recovery in early 2023. Its latest move is drawing attention because traders often use such on-chain measures to assess changes in market regime.
Ju said the indicator turned positive for the first time since October 2025, leading him to conclude that Bitcoin’s 2026 bear market has ended. The breakout resembles the recovery signal recorded in early 2023, though it does not guarantee a sustained rally. Whether the shift develops into a broader bull market will depend on available liquidity, fresh capital inflows and macroeconomic conditions, which remain the key constraints on Bitcoin’s next phase.

The history behind this eventBitcoin Bull-Bear Cycle Indicator Turns Green for First Time Since 2023, Signaling Possible Early Bull Market
CryptoQuant’s Bitcoin bull-bear cycle indicator is used to identify whether the market is in a bull or bear phase, with green typically signaling a structural shift toward recovery. The indicator last turned green in March 2023. Its latest move is therefore seen as an important sign of a possible market regime shift after nearly three years, but it does not confirm that prices have entered a full-fledged bull market.
The indicator recently turned green for the first time since March 2023. Analysts identified $82,000 as a key resistance level that Bitcoin must break and hold, while continued market liquidity will also need to be confirmed. BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes said the rally could broaden further if Bitcoin breaks above $90,000.
