Animoca Brands Chairman Predicts 100 Billion AI Agents Will Power the Metaverse

Animoca Brands Chairman Yat Siu sees the Metaverse not as a single virtual space but as a digital economy in which AI Agents autonomously trade, coordinate and create value on blockchains. Under this model, agents could handle complex Crypto operations, lowering the barriers for ordinary users to enter Web3.

At the 2026 Consensus conference, Siu predicted that 100 billion AI Agents would eventually power the Metaverse and create a vast “agent economy.” Animoca Brands also announced a $10 million commitment to establish the Animoca Minds fund, which will support development teams combining artificial intelligence, blockchain and autonomous-agent technologies.
