Meme Coin Pairs Fuel Tokenized-Stock Boom on Robinhood Chain

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-05 · Last active 2026-09-11

Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum-based Layer-2 network launched on July 1, 2026, was designed to bring tokenized U.S. equities and other real-world assets into decentralized finance. Its stock tokens provide economic exposure but are debt instruments rather than redeemable shares. Because new HIMS tokens can be issued by only one authorized partner and only during New York Stock Exchange hours, meme coins that use the tokens as liquidity can drain the available float, exposing sharp gaps between on-chain prices and the underlying equity.

Over the weekend of Aug. 30, buying of BONER, a meme coin paired directly with tokenized Hims & Hers Health stock, locked more than 53% of the 58,714 HIMS tokens in circulation. The on-chain token briefly surged to $132.64, compared with Hims & Hers shares’ Aug. 28 close of $28.84; the listed stock remained near $29 the following Monday. The tactic quickly spread to other pools, and meme coin-stock token pairs generated $217 million in trading volume on Sept. 2.

The Backstory

The history behind this event
Robinhood Chain Revenue Tops Ethereum as Memecoin Trading Surgesfirst seen 2026-08-31 · 2 reports · similarity 0.81

Robinhood Chain is emerging as a major venue for launching and trading memecoins, whose activity is often driven by social-media momentum and short-term speculation. The network’s ability to generate more daily revenue than Ethereum underscores how low-cost token-creation and trading tools can rapidly redirect onchain activity, intensifying competition among blockchain platforms for users, liquidity and fee income.

On Aug. 30, Robinhood Chain processed a record 5.52 million transactions as users launched about 22,600 tokens in a single day. Strong demand for memecoin trading tools lifted the network’s daily revenue to $2.66 million, surpassing Ethereum. A related report said decentralized-exchange volume on Robinhood Chain had jumped to $1.6 billion, highlighting the scale of the surge.

CASHCAT Meme Coin Soars on Robinhood's New Chain, Minting Millionairesfirst seen 2026-07-09 · 4 reports · similarity 0.79 · same topic: Meme Coins

Online brokerage Robinhood recently launched Robinhood Chain, a new blockchain designed to advance the tokenization of traditional financial assets. Although the chain attracted a $200 million stablecoin market in its first week, its first breakout hit was the CASHCAT meme coin. The unexpected success diverged from Robinhood's original tokenization vision and reflected the community-driven speculation and wealth-creation frenzy in crypto markets.

CASHCAT's market capitalization recently surged to $105 million and climbed more than 20% within 24 hours, at one point topping $200 million. One trader reportedly turned an $800 stake into more than $1 million in profit within a short period. The boom also exposed the extreme speculative risks posed by meme coins' high volatility and severe lack of liquidity, warranting continued investor caution.
