Google Plans to Consolidate AI Coding Tools Into Antigravity to Counter Anthropic and OpenAI
Google has launched several AI coding products in recent years, but fragmented teams and resources have prevented it from developing a cohesive enterprise offering. As Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex rapidly gain ground among developers, Google plans to use Antigravity as a consolidation platform to sharpen product positioning and improve internal collaboration.
The latest report says Google plans to fold its disparate AI coding tools into Google Antigravity, concentrating research, development and commercialization resources while narrowing the gap with Anthropic and OpenAI. At the time of publication, Google had not disclosed a completion date, investment amount, product pricing or formal launch schedule.
