Bitget to Revive US Expansion Regardless of Clarity Act

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-22 · Last active 2026-07-22

The United States is a major but tightly regulated market for cryptocurrency trading platforms, making entry strategically important and operationally difficult. Bitget shelved an earlier US expansion effort in 2022 amid those challenges. Reviving the plan would signal that the exchange sees sufficient long-term opportunity to proceed without making its market strategy contingent on the outcome of a single piece of crypto legislation.

Chief Executive Officer Gracy Chen said Bitget will restart and advance its US expansion “with or without” passage of the Clarity Act. The move revives a plan that has been on hold for about four years and underscores the exchange’s determination to establish a US presence despite continued policy uncertainty. Bitget has not disclosed an investment amount, a firm launch date or details of the operating structure it intends to use.
