Meta Launches Plus Subscriptions and Advanced Meta One AI Plans

Meta has long relied on advertising to keep Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp free, while exploring subscription revenue in recent years through Meta Verified. Its new Meta One brand brings premium social features and advanced AI plans under one paid ecosystem, diversifying revenue beyond advertising while shifting some generative AI computing costs to power users. Core features across all three apps will remain free.

Meta announced the global rollout of Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus on May 27, 2026, priced at $3.99, $3.99 and $2.99 a month, respectively. Testing of the AI plans will begin in June. Meta One Plus will cost $7.99 a month and Premium $19.99, offering greater computing capacity for deep reasoning and more image and video generation.
