Airwallex Launches AI-Powered Bookkeeping Platform

Founded in 2015, Airwallex is a global payments and financial platform offering businesses cross-border collections, foreign exchange, accounts and expense management services. Its valuation rose to $11 billion from $8 billion within six months, signaling continued investor confidence in fintech and AI-powered financial automation and drawing greater attention to its IPO timeline.

Airwallex announced on June 25, 2026, that it had completed a $320 million Series H funding round led by existing investor Addition. The proceeds will fund autonomous finance and agentic commerce products. On June 24, it also named Pranav Sood, a former investor with Bain Capital’s growth equity fund, as CFO, a move seen as an important step in strengthening its IPO preparations.

Airwallex, best known for cross-border payments and multicurrency treasury management, is moving directly into Stripe's core software market with Airwallex Billing, which integrates invoicing, subscriptions and usage-based billing. AI and SaaS companies often charge by token, API call or outcome, models that traditional fixed-monthly-fee systems struggle to support. Global billing capabilities are therefore crucial to cross-border expansion and revenue efficiency.

Airwallex announced the modular global billing suite on June 3, 2026, making it available at no additional cost to customers on existing pricing plans. The platform supports more than 160 payment methods and same-currency settlement in over 20 currencies, backed by more than 85 licenses covering over 40 markets. The company said annual recurring revenue had reached $1.3 billion, up 70% year over year, and that it served more than 250,000 businesses.
