Taiwan Companies Embrace Agentic AI in 2026 to Boost Competitiveness and Economic Value

The year 2026 is seen as the first year of full-scale deployment for AI agents, with the breakout application "Lobster" fueling a wave of corporate adoption. Unlike generative AI systems that merely answer questions, Agentic AI can break down objectives, connect with other systems and proactively execute tasks. This is moving companies beyond general-purpose tools and into a new phase in which they build AI tools tailored to their needs.

The latest cases from 2026 show Taiwanese companies accelerating the integration of Agentic AI into their operations. Through agentic AI implementations, New Wide Enterprise and LCY Chemical have automated work that previously required substantial human labor. Together, the projects saved the equivalent of 100 workdays and generated about NT$240 million in benefits, demonstrating that AI agents can already deliver quantifiable economic value.
