Northrim Bank Taps Narmi for Digital Banking Overhaul
Founded in 1990 after Alaska’s banking sector was shaken by the 1987 market crash, Northrim Bank has grown into a regional community lender with $3.4 billion in assets and 21 branches across the state. It provides retail and business banking, lending and treasury-management services on FIS’ Integrated Banking Solution, or IBS, core. Alaska’s vast geography makes reliable remote access particularly important, while expansion in the Pacific Northwest raises the value of a consistent digital experience across markets.
Northrim said on Aug. 5, 2026, that it selected Narmi One to modernize and consolidate digital banking and integrate consumer and business account opening into one platform. The bank will retain its FIS IBS core while upgrading customer-facing services for clients in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. Financial terms and an implementation timetable were not disclosed. Northrim joins other IBS institutions using Narmi One, including Beacon Bank, Grasshopper Bank and Alma Bank, as community lenders seek fewer vendors and more unified digital channels.
