Perplexity is expanding generative AI beyond search and content assistance into core corporate operations. The company is using GPT-6 Astra to draft communications, modify software and monitor production systems, placing the model across development, deployment and operational workflows. The move is significant because it tests whether advanced AI can reliably execute interconnected tasks in live environments rather than merely advise human teams.

Perplexity’s chief strategy officer said the company can now entrust Astra with complete end-to-end systems, while employees check its work far less often than they did with earlier models. The latest reports did not disclose an implementation date, review-frequency figures or costs. Still, the sharp decline in human oversight signals substantially greater confidence in using advanced AI to maintain production operations.
