Ripple Legal Chief Calls Sept. 15 Key Test for Clarity Act
The crypto industry has pressed U.S. lawmakers for a market-structure framework that provides clearer rules for digital assets and related trading activity. The Clarity Act has consequently become an important test of whether Washington can reduce regulatory uncertainty and create conditions that keep cryptocurrency innovation and investment in the United States.
Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty said Sept. 15 will be a “bellwether” for the Clarity Act market-structure bill and its prospects for advancing. He warned that a failure to achieve meaningful progress by that date could cause the United States to miss a pivotal opportunity in cryptocurrency development, leaving the industry without the policy clarity it has sought.
