Digital Video Ads Overtake Display in Taiwan as AI Reshapes Market
Taiwan’s digital advertising market has historically been led by display formats, but the expansion of streaming video, short-form content and connected television is shifting brand budgets. The Digital Media and Marketing Association, or DMA, said generative AI is also changing how consumers search and discover information, pushing advertisers toward generative engine optimization, or GEO, and more data-driven media strategies.
DMA’s latest report said digital video advertising in Taiwan surpassed display advertising for the first time in 2025, marking a structural turning point for the market. It identified AI-powered search, GEO and emerging media channels as key forces reshaping competition. The information provided did not disclose total market spending in New Taiwan dollars or revenue figures for the video and display segments.
