U.S. Jobs Data and Digital Ruble Rollout Take Center Stage for Crypto
U.S. labor data will be a key test for crypto markets because employment trends shape Federal Reserve policy expectations, Treasury yields and the dollar — all important drivers of liquidity and demand for risk assets such as bitcoin. Nonfarm payrolls fell by 23,000 in July, while May and June were revised lower by a combined 103,000, raising the stakes for the August report.
ADP private payrolls and JOLTS job openings will offer preliminary signals before the August employment report at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sept. 4. Economists expect payrolls to rise by 58,000 and unemployment to ease to 4.1% from 4.2%. Russia, meanwhile, begins the first large-scale phase of its digital ruble rollout on Sept. 1, when the Bank of Russia’s consultation on a framework for ruble-denominated stablecoins also closes.
