OKX Launches OpenAI, Anthropic Pre-IPO Futures in Europe

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-11 · Last active 2026-09-12

OpenAI and Anthropic remain privately held, leaving most retail investors shut out of funding rounds and tightly controlled secondary markets. Crypto platforms are trying to bridge that gap with derivatives and tokenized securities; Binance’s bStocks reached about $118.5 million within two months, underscoring the demand. Pre-IPO perpetuals, however, are wagers on changing valuations rather than equity: holders receive no shares, voting rights or automatic allocation if the companies eventually list.

OKX said on Sept. 10, 2026, that it launched pre-IPO perpetual futures tied to OpenAI and Anthropic for eligible European traders, allowing long or short positions with leverage of as much as 10 times. The exchange also added 100 tokenized stocks and ETFs, including Nvidia, Alphabet, Palantir, SPY and QQQ, for round-the-clock trading. European volume in OKX’s X-Perps has quadrupled since the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets transition period ended in July, according to the company.

OKX Launches Pre-IPO OpenAI and SpaceX Perpetual Futures in Push Into Private Equity Tradingfirst seen 2026-05-06 · 1 reports · similarity 0.77 · same topic: OKX

Private-company equity is generally available only to institutional or accredited investors, but OKX is offering synthetic price exposure through USDT-settled perpetual futures. Traders do not need to own shares in OpenAI, SpaceX or Anthropic. The move follows a wave of pre-IPO trading products from platforms including Bitget and Injective and targets the roughly $13 trillion private equity market, though the contracts carry no shareholder rights.

OKX listed SPACEX/USDT, OPENAI/USDT and ANTHROPIC/USDT in sequence on May 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Taiwan time, respectively. The contracts offer leverage of up to 5x. Before listing, valuations are calculated on an assumed 1 billion shares, with each unit representing approximately one-billionth of the company's market capitalization. After an IPO, the products will convert into standard equity perpetual futures.
