1 reports · First detected 2026-03-24 · Last active 2026-03-24

Alibaba is extending AI agents from cloud services to end-user hardware, with plans for Alibaba Cloud's Wuying team to integrate the open-source OpenClaw framework and make agents easier to deploy and use. The initiative could shape the next generation of human-computer interaction and put Alibaba in direct competition with Baidu and ByteDance across computing infrastructure, operating platforms and developer ecosystems.

As of July 20, 2026, market reports said Alibaba was planning dedicated AI agent products known as “shrimp farming” devices, including laptops and mini PCs. The products would feature deep OpenClaw integration and offer a complete agent experience. Alibaba has not yet formally disclosed product specifications, pricing, investment amounts or launch dates.
