Revolut Launches AI Lab Built Around Pragma Model
Revolut is elevating artificial intelligence from a product feature to a core part of its banking technology strategy. Financial activity generates highly contextual signals across spending, payments and risk, making general-purpose models less suited to capturing subtle behavioral differences. A dedicated research operation and proprietary foundation model could give the digital bank tighter control over model development, data governance and integration with its financial services.
Revolut has launched a dedicated AI research unit centered on Pragma, its in-house foundation model. The company said the initiative is intended to create a unified system capable of interpreting nuances in financial behavior in real time and to power internal banking models. Revolut did not disclose the investment committed to the project, a deployment timetable or technical details such as Pragma’s parameter count.
